Meryl Dorey reports from Tasmania after the AVN’s screening of Robert F Kennedy Jr’s documentary on Gardasil vaccine in Launceston.
My experience with the media has, in general, been one of trying to convince an amoral pathological liar of the benefits of telling the truth – it’s deeply frustrating and incredibly horrifying at the same time.
So when in mid-March this year, I was contacted by Timothy Elliott, a writer who was preparing a feature article for Good Weekend magazine about people who don’t vaccinate in Australia, I was more than a bit cynical about both his motives and his ability/willingness to report fairly on such a complex and emotive issue.
I sent him several reference articles in answer to his first email message (see footnotes), and altogether, spent close to 5 hours speaking with him – about 2 hours on my own and another 2.5 hours with a woman in Ballina named Kerry-anne, whose daughter was seriously injured by the Gardasil HPV vaccination…. The Therapeutic Goods Administration, the body charged with ensuring that all therapeutic goods sold in Australia are safe and effective (though they are 100% funded by the companies making these same products under a scheme called Cost Recovery) has named itself as chief censor of all things health-related.
Before the election, the AVN attempted to get 2 billboards erected in order to inform the public that vaccines can and do cause death in some people. One would think this would be relevant information for any parent considering vaccination?
The family of Gabby Larkin, a young woman who developed a rare form of ovarian cancer within a very short time after receiving a Gardasil HPV vaccine – a cancer she subsequently died from – graciously allowed the AVN to use Gabby’s photo and a bit of her story on our billboards.

It seems that the award-winning journalist and documentary filmmaker Joan Shenton is being refused permission to enter Australia this week, following the news that she was to front a screenings tour of her award-winning film Sacrificial Virgins in early August.
Sacrificial Virgins probes the controversies surrounding Gardasil HPV vaccination programs – associated with many cases of severe neurological damage and also deaths in girls and young women – and presents new scientific evidence that questions these programs’ ability even to deliver the cervical cancer prevention that is the chief rationale for their existence. A very high proportion of 12-13 year old girls and boys in Australia are routinely administered Gardasil free of charge in school as part of the National Immunisation Program (NIP)…. [Read More]
You couldn’t make this stuff up.
Two young Irish girls protesting against Gardasil a few days ago suffered seizures and needed hospital care, while inside the nearby Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Professor Ian Frazer the co-developer of the vaccine was giving a speech and spruiking the ‘success’ of the Australian HPV vaccination program.
The protest against HPV vaccines took place on Monday, July 9 in Dublin and consisted of parents and young girls injured after Gardasil along with citizens concerned about the side effects of the vaccine purported to prevent cervical cancer…. [Read More]

I was diagnosed with cervical dysplasia in 1985. Since that time I have followed the issue of cervical cancer and its resurrection from a disease of obscurity to one of prominence.
I was appalled when health experts and our compliant media began promoting HPV vaccines for teenage girls to protect them from a disease which had already seen a 50 percent reduction in deaths due improved living conditions and the implementation Australian National Cervical Screening Program in 1991.
The public flogging of veteran broadcast journalist Katie Couric began on Dec. 4, 2013, immediately after a 17-minute report on HPV and Gardasil vaccine was broadcast on her TV talk show “Katie.” It was kick-started by a west coast business writer, who administered the first lash with a bizarre take-down of freedom of the press:… [Read More]
