It would not have escaped those who follow the vaccination issue closely, that there is a big push going on in Australia at the moment to have as many people as possible vaccinated against Meningococcal Disease. Tasmania is no exception, with the state government having introduced a “free” Meningococcal ACWY vaccine for all Tasmanians up to the age of 21 years, from 01 July 2018. This is in addition to Meningococcal vaccination for strains A, C, W and Y for children aged 12 months of age which replaced the meningococcal C vaccine as part of the National Immunisation Program from the same date.
The following posts feature discussions and news about vaccine safety.

Every year, during the month of October, we remember and honour the many victims of vaccine injury, both living and deceased, both adults and children.
In Australia, vaccine injury victims generally have a right to sue either the practitioner who administered the vaccine or the vaccine manufacturer, notwithstanding they will face substantial difficulties in proving fault, even in circumstances where there is a probable link between administration of the vaccine and the injury.
What many may not know, but should, is that when a child isn’t just injured. but dies as a result of vaccination, the parents have no general right to sue for damages, even in circumstances where there is a probable link between administration of the vaccine and the death, combined with legal fault such as negligence.
It was recently reported that Lindsey Day, a previously healthy 39 year old Dad, died after receiving Influenza and Whooping Cough (dTpa) vaccines ahead of the birth of his step-daughter’s baby.
We wish to extend our sincere condolences to Lindsey’s wife and family for this entirely preventable tragedy.
Who is healthier?
The AVN, with the help and support of its members across Australia and around the world, has erected a billboard (see the image below) in Brisbane QLD. It asks the simple question about who is healthier – the vaccinated or the unvaccinated. This is because October is International Vaccine Injury Month. This is a time to recognise, think of and acknowledge the toll that vaccines take and have taken on the health and wellbeing of children and adults worldwide.
Vaccination has been practised for well over 200 years so one would expect that in all that time, long-term studies comparing the overall health of groups of vaccinated and unvaccinated children and adults would have been performed. These comparisons should have examined outcomes such as overall health, rates of chronic disease and disability, rates of infection (both infections with the diseases targeted by vaccines and other infections) and any other issues which might be related to these medical procedures.
If we assume these sorts of studies have been done, however, we would be mistaken…. [Read More]
The Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care reported in 2014 that 60 per cent of adult Australians have low health literacy, arguing that they may not be able to effectively exercise their choice or voice when making healthcare decisions.
The Commission defines individual health literacy as the skills, knowledge, motivation and capacity of a person to access, understand, appraise and apply information to make effective decisions about health and health care and take appropriate action…. [Read More]

Two young Irish girls protesting against Gardasil a few days ago suffered seizures and needed hospital care, while inside the nearby Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, Professor Ian Frazer the co-developer of the vaccine was giving a speech and spruiking the ‘success’ of the Australian HPV vaccination program.
The protest against HPV vaccines took place on Monday, July 9 in Dublin and consisted of parents and young girls injured after Gardasil along with citizens concerned about the side effects of the vaccine purported to prevent cervical cancer…. [Read More]

Vaccination: A Parent’s Plea
Before I had children
I had no idea
I didn’t have many concerns
I never really knew fear
But now I have children
They are my breath
Part of my being
Until my own death
So now I know fear
I know what it means
To worry about them
Whether newborns or teens… [Read More]
