Aged care flu vaccine mandates remain in force in most states and territories

Update as at 28 February 2021

Three states, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia do not currently require influenza vaccination to enter aged care facilities.

In the case of South Australia, the directions were recently changed to include a requirement for people entering residential aged care facilities to be vaccinated with the 2021 influenza vaccine by 01 June 2021.  This means that for the next three months, visitors to these facilities, and employees, do not need to have received either the 2020 or 2021 influenza vaccine.

The flu vaccine mandates remain in force in the other five states and territories.  A link to all current state and territory directions have been provided below.
