Given as part of the Australian childhood vaccination schedule at: 2, 4 & 6 months of age, then again at 4 years of age.

Probablythe most controversial of all the childhood vaccines, the DTP iscomprised of a vaccination against Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis(whooping cough).  All three of these illnesses are bacterial innature. Other bacterial vaccines in the childhood vaccination scheduleinclude Hib (Haemphilus Influenzae type B), Meningococcal, andPneumococcal.

The pertussis or whooping cough vaccine has beencited as the cause of a great deal of suffering and death since thereport by Madsen et al in 1933.  Despite the more than 70 years ofcontroversy since that time, this vaccine continues to be used.

All whole cell DTP vaccines contain mercury in the form of thiomersal.Mercury is one of the most toxic (poisonous) substances known to manand has been linked with forms of brain damage including Autism.

We here at theAVN had the up-to-date Australian vaccination information on ourwebsite for years. Unfortunately, a couple of years ago, we wereordered to remove these details due to supposed copyright issues thoughthey are freely available across the Tasman as you can see.

Asfar as we are able to determine, this information and the vaccinemanufacturers are exactly the same as the information released onvaccines in Australia. It seems that the powers that be in Australia donot want you to know what is in the vaccines being used here, what thelisted side-effects are and what contraindications (or reasons why thevaccine might not be appropriate) there are for individuals who areconsidering taking this shot. Hopefully, the authorities in Australiawill one day become more open-minded on this issue and will decide thatparents are not only capable of understanding this information butshould have access to it to assist in their decision-making process.For now, here is the information from New Zealand.
