Fluorosilicic Acid is the most
commonly used additive for water fluoridation, followed by two dry additives – sodium fluorosilicate and sodium fluoride. Fluorosilicic acid is derived from production of phosphate fertilizers. The apatite ore (a type of limestone) is mixed and heated with sulfuric acid to form a phosphoric acid-gypsum slurry, the starting point to make pelletized phosphate fertilizers.
Click here to download a 28-page information booklet on the problems with fluoride. Fully referenced, this data was gathered together to help fight against compulsory mass medication (eg water fluoridation) in the Eurobodalla Shire, Victoria. No matter where you live in Australia however, if you are opposed to the use of fluoride in water, this information will help you to run or participate in an information campaign to remove it or prevent its use in your water system.
