Return to Dossier of Attacks on the AVN
As we have said on another page of this website, Daniel Raffaele is the ‘creator’ of the Stop the AVN Facebook page. Over the last 3 years, he has issues many threats against Meryl Dorey – some veiled – some not to veiled. Below are a selection of several of these. There are many more which may be added as time allows.
Those who are guilty of this sort of cyberbullying and abuse should be aware that, due to the recent internet assaults against Charlotte Dawson, the following statement has been issued and would most definitely apply to you and those who enable your behaviour:
Mr Gallacher said that “even a cursory examination of the comments made to Ms Dawson overnight reveals they are clearly offensive to a reasonable person, which is the test for any prosecution under Section 474.17 of the Commonwealth Criminal Code Act”.
That section refers to use of a “carriage service” to menace, harass or offend, with a maximum three-year jail term.
University of Technology Sydney communications law expert Michael Fraser said those who attacked Dawson had committed criminal acts.
“The online world is not above the law,” Professor Fraser said.

it is time for Daniel to stand accountable for cyber bullying. This kind of behaviour and agressive tactics does his and his drug pushing fraternity no favours. Your bullying on top of the constant harrassment from the government to vaccinate or “lose your privaleges” is one giant beat up on us poor parents. How dare you Daniel behave in such a way. I think this should be enough evidence to shut down your negative “anti” site.I hope something can be done and charges can be laid against Daniel following the latest discussions re: Charlotte Dawson. I would be happy to contribute to AVN to help fund the lawsuit.
I agree. The man is a bully, who should be prosezuted. I also would help fund the lawsuit.
Wait, did you just call the vaccination *incentive* a privilege?
Where is the quote you are referring to, Harry? Can you cite exactly what was said and who said it (and where)?
Karen August 31, 2012 at 7:33 pm “…..from the government to vaccinate or “lose your privaleges is one giant beat up on us poor parents”
I meant to click the reply to Karen above.
Thanks for clearing that up Harry.
I would personally look forward to the AVN filling lawsuits against Skeptics for being rude. I’m sure the courts will look oh so kindly upon those who openly advocate childhood exposure to disease.
Because being rude is the greater crime against humanity; right Karen?
Daniel, normally I would not approve any of your comments on this blog, but I wanted everyone reading this to see what you’ve said. That you are proud of being abusive and plan on doing more abuse. And that you consider abuse to be nothing more than rudeness and your continual lies about people who are making informed choices about a serious health decision. In other words, your attitude and behaviour is indicative of why SAVN can and should be considered a hate group.
wow. this guy has a lot of pent up hate. it is not natural to have so much hate for a person. not even exaggerating when i say this guy needs some serious psychological help. i mean, at least you know who he is, i assume he is not using an alias or something, get legal advice first but it would probably be worth pursuing him through civil court/tribunal whatever they are calling it now.
if it were me, to be honest i would be scared, see, to my mind, the way he talks and attempts to justify what he is saying and doing, there is not a rational person behind that kind of talk, he talks about you being stubborn and refusing to change your mind, that you have bought his abuse on yourself, insinuating that you only have yourself to blame for the demise of the avn and the demise of yourself. he believes you are an evil nazi caricature throwing still living babies into an incinerator, and he is a hero fighting for truth, fighting against your elaborate “disinformation campaign” and bringing you to justice, in his mind he is trying to save lives!! and you are trying, with quite evil intent and malice aforethought, to kill people. babies no less.
see, this kind of irrational, inconsistent polarised worldview is dangerous because these people work themselves into such a frenzy that they don’t know where the line is anymore, the unspoken rules of engagement are thrown out the window, they will keep going that one step too far, and the victim is just left in shock each time “omg i cant believe that just happened”, may even laugh about it, but will not recognise the danger they are really in. he is fixated on you and will not stop, he will keep going until he has gone too far. you need to get some protection from him, you need to make sure the police know, and have recorded, what is going on. They won’t want to help you, but this guy WILL go too far, and if you are still around after he does, well, you can at least hold the police accountable for doing nothing.
The police have been notified several times about many of the threats from this group and certain individuals within it and they have chosen not to take action. Because of the police department’s inaction, certain members of Stop the AVN have felt very free to continue their threatening and abusive behaviour.
The police are currently working on one more recent case but they are certainly moving very slowly. I hope that they will be accountable for their inaction if they do nothing and something happens to either myself or my family. At least I have records of everything that has occurred and police report numbers. I hope to be able to update everyone on this case within the next week.
Hi Tom,
I’ve been thinking about your comments all night. Sometimes, when you’re close to an issue and it’s been going on for a long time, you start to treat bad things as though they were normal. But if someone who is not even involved with this subject and who has never posted here before (as far as I know) can read what Daniel Raffaele said and have that response to it, I’ve gotta say mate you’ve really scared me! Daniel Raffaele isn’t the only one on SAVN who behaves in this way – far from it! He may not even be the worst, believe it or not (though he is pretty bloody bad). But now, I’m not only worried that they will incite some nut job to try and do something stupid – but they might actually do it themselves. I’m not sure what to do about this. None of the authorities whose job it is to protect innocent people from harm seem to care very much about this. I guess you have to be a celebrity like Charlotte Dawson or a 16 years old girl?
I wonder if Daniel has any children who have had side effects from vaccine; side effects that the doctors cannot cure, such as eczema from small pox vaccine. My children did and but for homeopathy they would still be suffering from eczema today. But thanks to a homeopath in South Africa, they recovered very quickly. To contract an infectious disease is part of life. If you can use protective measures without side effects, then Daniel you have a point. But when vaccines are known to produce low grade dormant chronic inflammations and it happens to be your child and you are the one having to wake up during the night to attend to their helplessness, knowing that it was not nature that caused it but a man made vaccine, it does make you regret it and you do feel guilty and bitter about it. I don’t know of anyone parent whose child has had side effects and still maintains that it was worth it. They all say they wish they hadn’t. Come on Daniel, you may have some good philosophy but no experience and no leg to stand on. You won’t convince those of us who have suffered emotionally, financially, morally and physically for seeing sick children helpless from what was supposed to be good for them. There is no cure for regret either. Gerard
Beautifully put, Gerard – and as one of those parents myself, I have to agree 100% with what you say. The other point I’d like to make is that there is no convincing evidence that vaccines have done ANYTHING to reduce deaths from infectious diseases so one has to wonder why it is we are always told that they save lives as a way of justifying the use of compulsion for compliance? Parents are not fools and we do deserve to be told the truth about not only the safety of vaccines but also, their usefulness in reducing the risk of death.
Are we not all humans?
Vaccination is a human issue.
Non vacc is a choice as is vaccination.
Can we not have a rational debate?
Unless we start to be polite, this will continue.
No doubt both sides have said things they would retract.
There is obvious passion from all involved.
Surely we can be civil?
Thanks Jeff. I’m ready for a civilised conversation on this issue. I would welcome anyone from the other side who wants to participate without accusations or personal attacks.
This is indeed a human issue, which is why the AVN needs to be attacked and brought down in any way possible. I look forward to the day when anti-vaxxers are shunned and driven out of the community they threaten.
Perhaps there needs to be a national anti-vaxxer register, much like a sex offender register. So that communities can know if anti-vaxxers are living nearby.
Thanks for this post Dan – this will go nicely on the Dan Buzzard page I’m preparing. I don’t think there would be one person out there with even a modicum of kindness, intelligence or caring who could read what you have written and not be totally disgusted by you.
Dan,
I am not a pro-vaxer or an anti-vax[x]er. Why do you have to be either, either, or?
I am a non-vaxer for my family only. I witnessed my son go through hell, suffering from side-effects after each vaccine. He will never, ever receive another vaccine in his life, it doesn’t take a genius that he is susceptible to vaccines.
Remember no-one has a “BLUEPRINT OF YOUR DNA!”
Dan, are you really that callous?
Who the hell are you working for buzzard? You’ve got a good name dude….I wish they had a register for hate filled vile ppl like you!
Daniel once described himself as Meryls ‘Arch Nemesis’. It’s the sort of thing you’d expect to hear from an 11 year old. While I can understand the odd outburst of anger as the topic of vaccination can get rather heated and personal, what I don’t understand is this man’s ongoing self-described hatred for Meryl and her ‘cult’ (that would every one of her supporters, apparently). Hate is a very strong word. It is also soul-destroying. He might be hurting others, but I can assure you that he has probably worked himself up into such a frenzy over the AVN that his stomach is in knots, that he cannot eat and he cannot sleep at night. Thats what hatred does to a person. It can also have a massive impact on a person’s immediate family. Although he chose this miserable reality for himself, I do pity him just a little.
Liz, can provide any evidence that Daniel does not enjoy hearty meals, a loving relationship with his family and a full nights sleep?
Do you have *any* basis for your comments that are specifically about Daniel?
Harry, I concede that I have no evidence in this regard. Infact now that I think about it, I’m quite sure that the opposite to everything I suspected about him is true. I can’t imagine that a man who expressed such fondness for the death and suffering of those he disagrees with would have anything other than a blissful harmonious existence on this earth. He is the epitome of love, a shining example to one and all, and I’m sure that for all the time that he spends obsessed with those who do not vaccinate, he manages to find time to enjoy his life. In fact that would explain why he jumped on this thread straight away to gloat about what an admirable cause he is contributing to.
Excellent, Liz. Made me laugh. Harry + Daniel…hmmm…
Clearly a case of mental illness here, perhaps this is what he will use as a legal defense when this matter is before the court. Oh how the issue changes when it is YOUR child who is injured (or killed) from a vaccine.
You surely have to be dealing with a mental health issue here?
Plenty of times I have wondered if vaccination was the correct thing to do for my family
It is something that we all should think seriously and long about. Discuss as a family.
Saving lives is the priority of both sides of this discussion, so despite all the unpleasantness, can we not at least acknowledge this?
So after weighing up the pros and cons, I have decided that I will go with the advice of someone who I know and trust.
Anti vaccinators have put forward their arguments, sometimes well, other times less so.
No doubt the same can be said of the pro camp. Everyone is human. I have to admit one thing. I am a layman.
To date, my medical training is zero. Not a scrap. The person I trust is my doctor. He is a good, kind family man, with four kids.
Scientific, evidence based medicine has my vote, for what its worth. That is my choice. It is the best option for the best result.
Good on you, David! you have made your decision for your own reasons and with your own information which is absolutely your right.
Many parents have cgosen not to vaccinate for the same reason. Many of those who don’t vaccinate are medically-trained or have done years of research into this issue in order to make a “scientific, evidence-based decision” and in their case, their decision was different to your own but it was stil “the best option for the best result” for them.
All we at the AVN ask is for everyone to have access to information on both sides and to be allowed to make their decision freely without financial penalties, abuse, harassment or discrimination.
With due respect to you David, I would like to begin by saying that you have not heard both sides of the argument properly. I am afraid the anti-vaccinators have not always put their case correctly. It is always a decision based on survival of the fittest, and if someone does not consider himself or his child to be fit, then that may be the option that he/she chooses in order to extend life. Politicians want life to be extended so they don’t lose votes. Parents want healthy children. Some people want their child vaccinated out of insecurity or fear. Others want it done Homeopathically for the reason I have described below. You are right that there is an element of the best choice for you, but you are wrong saying that this choice is based on evidence based medicine. First, the homeopathic method was already in use prior to the discovery of Penicillin, and was proven successful. The military Homeopathic hospital in Paris was a joint effort by England, France and America during the First World War. It was successfully treating the injured homeopathically at a time when there was no antibiotics. This is evidence based medicine. Secondly, please note that this debate is not just about the scientific versus the homeopathic. Orthodox vaccines do work, that is not being disputed here. What is being disputed though is the long term side effects that may appear years later. If you read about what microbiologist call ‘herd immunity’ you will find that a herd refers to the level of immunity within a community, and that the weak ones fall prey to the infection. On whose side do you want to be, the strong or the weak? Now, the idea of prevention is admirable, but not if it weakens the immune system in other ways. The homeopathic system not only is effective in preventing the disease, but also it does not have a deleterious effect on the immune system. Actually it reinforces and improves the immune system. Once vaccinated homeopathically your level of health improves, and you become even more resistant. This so called modern society has forgotten the notion of natural selection. It disregards the fact that people who are vaccinated by orthodox vaccines also take antibiotics as this is the model they follow. This is precisely what has led to the problem of bacterial resistance to antibiotics. This spiral effect will mean that even more vaccines will be required. Vaccines by definition do not improve health, they only prevent death. People who follow the homeopathic model, on the other hand, get the benefit of both an increased level of resistance and improved general health. This may not sound laboratory type scientific, but is sure suits nature lovers and those who want a healthy family. It is kind of responsible. Gerard Bocquee
I have just seen a picture which Daniele sent to Meryl- it was the most disgusting picture I have even seen of a man raping a woman that had been cut in half literally. This gives an indication of what sort of person he is- to even have access to a picture like this?? My god!
@ toni
The photos (from Tim Bolen) were very shocking and you have to ask, what kind of person has access to this degeneration?
